Mary-Louise Antoniades BA (Hons), PGDip
Psychodynamic Counsellor

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor working with adults, offering both short- and long-term therapy. I have trained with Enfield Counselling and Psychotherapy Service, where I developed a strong understanding of psychodynamic principles and gained unique clinical work experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. ECPS is accredited by both the British Psychoanalytic Council and the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, ensuring their commitment to high standards of practice.

As a registered member of the BPC, I work in accordance with the standards of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and adhere to their professional and ethical framework, which includes ongoing supervision and continuous professional development.

I offer a safe and confidential space where you can talk freely and feel listened to without judgment. Working together through this process, can help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself, improve relationships, and find new ways of managing difficulties.

My private practice is based in North London, in a calm and containing environment where you can take the time to reflect and work toward personal growth and emotional wellbeing.

Psychodynamic Counselling

Psychodynamic counselling focuses on the feelings we have about ourselves and other people, especially our family and those we are close to. Treatment involves discussing past experiences and how these may have led to our present situation and how these past experiences may be affecting our life now. The understanding gained frees the person to make choices about what happens in the future.  Psychodynamic counselling may involve brief therapy or regular sessions on an ongoing open ended basis.

Services

Psychodynamic Counselling involves regular meetings at the same time, same place every week. The sessions last for 50 minutes. In most cases the length of treatment will be agreed between the client and the therapist. What happens during a session is confidential.

Initial Consultation

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. Following this can be an in person consultation which enables us to decide whether it will be helpful for us to work together. It carries no obligation. We will discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you would like from therapy and the key issues arising from this, which we are likely to return to in future sessions.
